I ran into this terrifically good-looking waiter, Ray, at the Cafe du Monde Saturday night.  I just stepped outside the hotel to get some postcards from a nearby shop (5 for $1 instead of 89 cents each at the hotel gift shop).  After doing that, I wandered along the street a little, and wound up taking a carriage tour of the French Quarter, and eventually winding up at the Cafe du Monde, where I sat and had beignets (3 for $1.25) and writing some of the postcards.... I think I got back to the hotel about 1 a.m.!

Below we have Tori Carrington with Vicki Hinze, and Vicki with the Lori half of Tori :)

This is "Mr. T" who sells CDs at the Flea Market in the French Quarter.  He had just arrived and hadn't even started setting up yet... he was late because he was waiting to let me cross the street outside the Farmer's Market... I was lagging behind another group, and stopped to wait for him to turn after the group had crossed, but he waved me on.... Then we fell into conversation when he arrived in the booth next to where I was buying some New Orleans t-shirts to bring home :)
Here's me with Mr. T.  I got a CD of Cajun & Zydeco music from him.  So if you're in New Orleans, be sure to look him up and tell him that Allie said, "Hi!" :)

And, Mr. T, if you're out there reading this... I didn't send you these pics, because I can't find your card anywhere when I got home from New Orleans!  So email me :)

Here's one of my new favorite people.... our waitress in the Lounge, Odelia.  She was hard-working and friendly, and took great care of us every evening, bringing us cold drinks (and in my case, Caesar salad) when we straggled in hot and tired and foot sore from roaming the French Quarter :)
Here's Inez, who runs one of the little shops on Decatur Street... a lovely, friendly lady :)
the view from our hotel window....
Yes, gotta brag... this is my new hat... purple, with purple, green & gold (the official Mardis Gras colors) twisted hatband. Then I added a couple of gold throw necklaces just to add a little more glitz :)
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness! Last but not least, here's my vote for MY favorite cover model.  Put him on a Viking ship or on a Harley, yum! Heaven knows what he thinks of the strange lady who came running after him on the street and begged for his picture, LOL!
