Here's my personal favorite movie picks

THE LORD OF THE RINGS

Of course my bookstore isn't complete without this!  I have to say, that the movie was well worth every moment of the 35+ years I waited for it!  I couldn't have been more pleased :)

CHRISTMAS

The classic of all classics, with Alastair Sims.  No one does Scrooge better!
Available on VHS in the original B&W 50th Anniversary Edition (left) or the new release of same (picture on right), and on DVD in the original B&W , the B&W 50th Anniversary Edition, or colorized.
(New releases avail Nov 5, 2002)

If you haven't ever seen this, you've really missed out... and I am *not* a Mr. Magoo fan!  But this version of the old classic is absolutely charming, a must-have!
Available on VHS and DVD

PERSONAL FAVORITES

Yes, I have to admit it, BLAZING SADDLES is my #1 All-Time Favorite!  Just call me odd :)
Available on VHS (Special Edition  or Widescreen Edition ), with trailer, a documentary and "rare or unseen footage", etc., and DVD (both wide-screen and full-screen formats) which also have an interview with Mel Brooks
There's all sorts of formats for this one.  On VHS it comes in the original and something called D-VHS (whatever that is).  In DVD it comes in a single disk edition, (has both the original theater release and one with additional footage), or the full-screen edition. Only available in VHS format, unfortunately!  I'll keep an eye out for the DVD though.
This is an oldie.  Do you know who my fav. character is?  Not Robert Shaw as Red Ned Lynch, but Geoffrey Holder as the truly awesome character Cujo.  Available on VHS and DVD. Leslie Caron fans, you'll love this version of Cinderella.  Only in VHS, so far as I've been able to discover. HAH! Remember this one!  THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING THE RUSSIANS ARE COMING!  What a romp.  Available on DVD... apparently just released, and the VHS is out of print.
The Five-Star Collection on DVD. Available in VHS and on DVD in the Original version or the Special Edition (pic shown here). THE MOUSE THAT ROARED is just great, with Peter Sellers in the lead.  It doesn't bear a whole lot of resemblance to the book, but stands on its own despite that!  Available in VHS only.
