Falling in Love with My Vampire Cat is the first book in the That's (Para) Normal series.

This book is definitely different! Also, intriguing!

First, I don't generally like vampire romances; they're usually too this, or too that.

Second, I don't generally like first person, but I've learned to suck it up.

Third, I really HATE, with a passion, first person present. It's like... whhyyyyyyyy?

Leading up to the all-important number FOUR: I FREAKING ABSOLUTELY FANTASMAGORICALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!!! In fact, I didn't even realize that it WAS written in first person present til I was about halfway through. And then I'm, like, flipping back a few pages to see if she'd suddenly changed person and tense, and nope! I was so caught up in the story from the opening chapter, I just never even realized it.

And I WAS caught up in it right from the beginning. Really, I've never read anything like this. I howled over the failed tropes and the categorizing of her life in terms of tropes, that just really tickled my funny bone. As someone who has never fit in, and never known why, and finally just gave up trying to blaze my own trail, I found Willow totally relatable! I loved her vampire kitty, too, and how he's able to get her introduced to her own kind who would not only accept her but embrace her just as she was.

As for the epilogue... OMG! I was ROFLMAO!!! Go, Willow!

I now have Ollie's story on preorder :)
