I've found a fabulous new (to me) Paranormal Romance author!

Lauretta Hignett has been writing for awhile, and I never knew! Which is a good thing, because once I found one of her books, I got to binge read for a few weeks, because there are a LOT! Actually, they're technically Urban Fantasy, but each couple winds up together with a HEA, so... romance! She writes a little differently... each primary couple has a short on-going series, generally 4 books each, although one series is 6 books. The series don't have to be read in order, which is a good thing, because the first book I discovered was Oops I Ate a Vengeance Demon. Which, btw, is a hilarious book, and Navka, the vengeance demon, is a total hoot. In fact, now I'm writing about it, I have the urge to run get my Kindle and re-read it. So I read that whole series.

Then the next, then the Waif in the Wilds series.

It was only THEN that I discovered that all the series, in fact, had their own order. So I went to the beginning and worked forward. Not a problem, since I looooove binge reading at any time!

Anyhow! The above book is the first book in the Foils & Fury series, Foils & Fury. That and Welcome to Midlife Magic are my favorite series. No, they're not the first in the overall bunch of related series, but these are my two absolute favorite series, and don't ask me to choose which is my #1 favorite, because I can't (shown below in alphabetical order, not because one is more favorite than the other, heh).

For the sequential order purists amongst us (I'm usually one of them), here are all the series in reading order, starting with the first book of each:

  1. Immortal Ghost (Imogen Gray, 4 books)

  2. Oops I Ate a Vengeance Demon (Foils & Fury, 4 books)

  3. Bad Bones (Blood & Magic, 4 books)

  4. Vicious Creatures* (The Waif in the Wilds, 4 books)

  5. Susan, You're the Chosen One (Welcome to Midlife Magic, 4 books)

  6. The Wolf vs. the Vampire (Hidden City Supernatural Sleuth, 8 books)

  7. A Little Bite (The Eternity College Chronicles, 3 books & counting...)

*don't let the title put you off... Dwayne, the homicidal battle goose, has a huge fan base! (I'm one of them, heh.) Lauretta also has a fabulous FB group for her book groupies, full of chatter about the various characters, etc. One day, I hope my FB group will be like that! It's something I aspire to :)
