My daughter and I have a rather unique relationship. I was a single mom, and as she grew up, our relationship was often that of Senior/Junior partner as much as Mother/daughter. Er... I was the Senior partner. Obviously. I swear it!! No matter what she may say to the contrary. ANYWAY! So this resulted in any number of interesting passages between us, and I've collected a few over the years. Here's #2:

Darling Daughter: I’m afraid of babies. What if I hold one and I drop it?

Me: I never dropped you.

Darling Daughter: Maybe that’s what’s wrong with me? I never got dropped, and everyone else did.
